An Adventureland Wedding
I totally forgot that Stacy's bridal shower is next week. The actual wedding invitation arrived in the mail today and I was completely touched by the fact that it was addressed to "MaryAnn and Owen."
Idk. I was expecting a "MaryAnn + 1," you know? This silly little card makes me so stupidly happy just because it has our names in fancy print, like it's official that we are "Mary and Owen" and "Owen and Mary" and it's a package deal and not only does everyone know it, but they think it too.
I mean, they could have very easily sent us each our own invitation. It's an Adventureland wedding, so we know the bride and the groom equally well and vice versa. Owen used to work at the same ride as the groom, and I just kinda knew them both from being a pseudo-lifer, having worked in the park long enough to know pretty much everyone at least a little bit, and then the groom was my supervisor for a little while (no, it's not Gabe, but he's the best man) and the bride and I were both managers at the same time and tended to sit next to each other during manager meetings to talk smack on the Splash Zone and the Kiddieland teams because everyone hates them...except guests. So, every meeting was an endless parade of "GOLD STAR FOR THE RACCOON RACE TEAM" while the rest of us are like, "Fuck-off-and-die-violently."
Man, good times.
I'm really stoked for this wedding. An Adventureland wedding! It would have been more adorable if they were getting married at the park, but I mentioned it to the groom once in jest and he said he'd rather stab himself in the eye. But still, the wedding party, most of the guests...there's actually some concern that so many employees are going to need the day off that it's going to turn into Park Drama.
I love Park Drama. Especially when it's not my fault for once.
But aw, this invite, I keep looking at it and smiling and running my fingers over the ink. I sent Owen a picture and he said I was a dork.

I hope your day is going okay.

Would quite like to go to sleep now though - I drank a whole load of water with some salad for lunch, and now my stomach feels bloated, ick. I'm going to do some writing now though, be productive. *Nod*

It looks like she'll be getting a flat grill or a coffeemaker from me because I'm poor and I totally didn't realize that the shower is on SUNDAY because I'm also a procrastinator. I'd also rather go to the bachelor party. Whatever. I mean, it's not that I'm not excited for Stacy, but it's like, I'd rather watch the guys get sloppy and make asses of themselves than sit in a church basement drinking lemonade and pretending to be excited about cupcake molds.
I'm totally trying to be productive on the side today.
Lunch in an hour! Thank god. I'm starving. <3

I completely understand your sentiment though with the whole 'rather be at the bachelor party'. It could get messy though, could you handle that? Wait... don't answer. I know you love rolling around in mud.
I saw you replied to my comment at like 9-something in the morning my time. I wasn't even awake then! *Shudder* I need to get a clock and set it to your time so I can remember the time difference better. Google says it's 10:17am - is he right? (Or was he, whatever).

I can totally handle messy, haha. And I've never been in a strip club before! I feel like I'm missing out on an important experience.
Google was right! Now it's almost 11. Almost lunch time. SO CLOSE. NOM.

You totally need to suggest strip club for whoever has a birthday coming up. I go past one every time I go to the theatre - Legs 11 - but it looks too creepy and shady. Imagine all the pervy guys...
Lunch is almost within your grasp. Almost.
I'm making some progress with my writing, working on something for the

There's a strip club a block away from my high school. The Lakeside Lounge. It's SO sketchy. Someone got shot there when I was a senior. I need to go there. Heh.
One of my friends in college was a stripper at a place called the Coconut Grove. She always wanted us to come visit, but we never managed to.
Alright. FOOD TIME NOW. Back in a bit!

I've posted at both lately as my love for Sam has been growing. I stumbled upon LJ as a complete Dean!girl, but now I'm branching out and it's fun.
Your friend was a stripper? Awesome. You totally should have visited.
no subject
Heh. My mentality for s6 is that they're both morons but we still love them.
When it comes to my whump though...its ALWAYS Sam. ALWAYS. I'm totally open to whumping Dean...but I always seem to need someone to show me the whumped Dean, whereas, I tend to look for whumped Sam on my own. IDK.
Yeeeah. Stripper. I'm kinda sorry we never visited.

Ugh. *Snuggles* my after-lunch bloatedness has turned into feeling really sick. Y'know when you feel like you need to be sick to be better. :-(

But uh...yeah. My searches are similar. Lol. I actually have to bug spn_storyfinders (once I work up the courage to do it) because there are two stories that I read a bazillion months ago that were SO GOOD and I want to read them again and no amount of magical google-fu is getting me anywhere, so I am sad.
*pets* I know exactly what you mean. I tend to get that way when I'm hungover. In fact, at one point on Saturday, I was using the bag our sandwiches came in as a barf bag, and it smelled like mayo and onions and old lunch meat and I would take huge gulps of air just because I knew the smell would make me yak, but I'd feel SO MUCH BETTER afterwards.
I hope you feel better though. It's extra sucky when you're just ILL and not ill as the result of an awesome night preceeding the sick.

Paul's out at college somewhere so he can't take care of me, but we did have a nap together earlier. I'm always the big spoon.
I delete my search history too. I figure I'm actually taking a risk with bookmarking all of these LJ communities and my own journal even, but it's all password protected anyway, and if he was snooping I'd get cross! :D
Miri is cute. It's like, Zack and Miri Makes a Porno. I liked that movie. "Can I get a coffee, black?", "can't you see I'm talking, white?" Some comedic moments in there.
*Lies in bed* Blehhh! I was even on a roll with writing now, and even typing is worse than just lying down. I'm sure I'll be okay tomorrow. Hopefully. >3
*Takes your Sammy to bed, rolls eyes at Dean standing in the corner*

I like Zack and Miri Makes a Porno too. It's my favorite Kevin Smith movie, even moreso than Clerks, which is like, blasphemy or something. I just think it's hilarious and geeky and all the Pittsburghisms are spot on. Who knew you were in so many films, Pittsburgh? Who knew?
Soooo quoteable. Haha. The entire Black Friday speech is amazing and the Monroeville Zombies! I have a Monroeville Zombies t-shirt. I got it in homage to Zack and Miri and the mall itself being all steeped in glorious zombie history. There even used to be a zombie museum on the first floor...but it closed. I was totally crushed.
I have a thing for zombies. I <3 zombies. Eeee!
You can borrow Sammy. Dean can just deal with it. I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

*Grin*
I think my imaginary-Sammy helped. <3
Are you home now? ^^

I'm home! Trying to resist the urge to take a nap. Also, wishing there was a Starbucks or something closer to my apartment because I could really use a crazy chocolaty mocha espresso whatever. *sigh*
Comment-fic! Comment-fic is seriously one of my favorite flavors of fic. What meme is it for?

I need to play in that community more. Like, I know about it, but I never remember it. I want to check their meme out though. It keeps popping up on my friends page.

It's midnight now but I don't know whether to eat or not - I kinda fancy some soup but don't want to be ill all night.
What did you get for the bridal shower?
no subject
I love Yellow Fever. I love Dean's "We are insane" rant. Have you ever seen this fake movie trailer? I'm sliiiightly obsessed with fake movie trailers (Brokeback to the Future is my all-time fave though) and this one makes good use of the "we are insane rant.
I got Corningware dishes for the bridal shower. It's a full set of baking dishes. I like Corningware stuff myself, so, I felt it was a product I can really get behind.
no subject
I can't look at the fake trailer now, seeing as Paul is sitting over yonder and if I started playing something he'd think I'm strange, I will watch it tomorrow though!
You can't go wrong with bakeware. I see a lot of it at work, seeing as I work right by the kitchen department. I don't like it much as it means I have to wrap it up in bubble wrap, and dude, I hate wrapping. I turn my back and do it as discretely as possible.
Eeeep! Lillith is hugging Dean. I haven't seen her for ages.
no subject
Bakeware is pretty cool. I liked that it was the full set. Some of the stuff on their registry was only part of a set and personally, I'd feel kinda silly buying only part of a set, but there was no way I could afford full sets of like, china or silver.
I worked ever-so-briefly in a perfume store and I hated wrapping. If it was gift-wrapping, it took twenty tries for me to get the bow just the way the customer wanted (meanwhile, my line is getting longer and longer and longer) and if it was just bubble-wrap wrapping, either I used too much or not enough or whatever. I was not a fan of that job at all.
no subject
To be fair, the guys at work always look at me for the wrapping - especially if somebody has wandered to our till with some ladies clothing. They always say 'I'll leave these to the professional' e.g. ME - but dudes, I can't fold?! Have you seen my wardrobe? Haha.
I hope you have a good day, thanks for being sympathetic with my crazy sick self yesterday. <3

Also, this sounds like it's going to be an epic wedding. \O/
