I totally forgot that Stacy's bridal shower is next week. The actual wedding invitation arrived in the mail today and I was completely touched by the fact that it was addressed to "MaryAnn and Owen."

Idk. I was expecting a "MaryAnn + 1," you know? This silly little card makes me so stupidly happy just because it has our names in fancy print, like it's official that we are "Mary and Owen" and "Owen and Mary" and it's a package deal and not only does everyone know it, but they think it too.

I mean, they could have very easily sent us each our own invitation. It's an Adventureland wedding, so we know the bride and the groom equally well and vice versa. Owen used to work at the same ride as the groom, and I just kinda knew them both from being a pseudo-lifer, having worked in the park long enough to know pretty much everyone at least a little bit, and then the groom was my supervisor for a little while (no, it's not Gabe, but he's the best man) and the bride and I were both managers at the same time and tended to sit next to each other during manager meetings to talk smack on the Splash Zone and the Kiddieland teams because everyone hates them...except guests. So, every meeting was an endless parade of "GOLD STAR FOR THE RACCOON RACE TEAM" while the rest of us are like, "Fuck-off-and-die-violently."

Man, good times.

I'm really stoked for this wedding. An Adventureland wedding! It would have been more adorable if they were getting married at the park, but I mentioned it to the groom once in jest and he said he'd rather stab himself in the eye. But still, the wedding party, most of the guests...there's actually some concern that so many employees are going to need the day off that it's going to turn into Park Drama.

I love Park Drama. Especially when it's not my fault for once.

But aw, this invite, I keep looking at it and smiling and running my fingers over the ink. I sent Owen a picture and he said I was a dork.

I do feel better! Excuse the details, but my body decided to let me be sick, and now I feel okay! I'm tired and not sure if I should eat or not, but I just spent the last 45 minutes writing a fic for a comment fic meme, and yeah! I feel okay!

*Grin*

I think my imaginary-Sammy helped. <3

Are you home now? ^^

*happy dance*

I'm home! Trying to resist the urge to take a nap. Also, wishing there was a Starbucks or something closer to my apartment because I could really use a crazy chocolaty mocha espresso whatever. *sigh*

Comment-fic! Comment-fic is seriously one of my favorite flavors of fic. What meme is it for?

Mm. Chocolate Mocha ftw.

It's for the [livejournal.com profile] samdean_otp meme, although I only discovered that community today so I'm hardly a veteran! You should check out my fic, it has Sam getting beaten up by Dean and it's Gen. I wrote it 'cause it was a friend's prompt, but... fun times!

I just settled for regular coffee. :( I went to Target to get a gift for the bridal shower though, and they had STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE COFFEE and oooh gooood how I lusted for it...but it was like, $10/lb, so, maybe...some other time...*cries*

I need to play in that community more. Like, I know about it, but I never remember it. I want to check their meme out though. It keeps popping up on my friends page.

That sounds like awesome coffee! I'm watching SPN, s4's Yellow Fever. Dean is particularly adorable when he's scared of little dogs and kitties. Bless him. The meme doesn't have much going on at the moment, so maybe in a couple of days the fun will intensify.

It's midnight now but I don't know whether to eat or not - I kinda fancy some soup but don't want to be ill all night.

What did you get for the bridal shower?

It's probably amazing coffee. I know I'll probably cave by the end of the week and pick up a bag.

I love Yellow Fever. I love Dean's "We are insane" rant. Have you ever seen this fake movie trailer? I'm sliiiightly obsessed with fake movie trailers (Brokeback to the Future is my all-time fave though) and this one makes good use of the "we are insane rant.

I got Corningware dishes for the bridal shower. It's a full set of baking dishes. I like Corningware stuff myself, so, I felt it was a product I can really get behind.

We just saw the 'insane' rant and were laughing. I think I've only ever seen this episode once before, and it's awesome.

I can't look at the fake trailer now, seeing as Paul is sitting over yonder and if I started playing something he'd think I'm strange, I will watch it tomorrow though!

You can't go wrong with bakeware. I see a lot of it at work, seeing as I work right by the kitchen department. I don't like it much as it means I have to wrap it up in bubble wrap, and dude, I hate wrapping. I turn my back and do it as discretely as possible.

Eeeep! Lillith is hugging Dean. I haven't seen her for ages.

I love little girl Lilith! I think she's way more creepy/awesome when she's inhabiting small children.

Bakeware is pretty cool. I liked that it was the full set. Some of the stuff on their registry was only part of a set and personally, I'd feel kinda silly buying only part of a set, but there was no way I could afford full sets of like, china or silver.

I worked ever-so-briefly in a perfume store and I hated wrapping. If it was gift-wrapping, it took twenty tries for me to get the bow just the way the customer wanted (meanwhile, my line is getting longer and longer and longer) and if it was just bubble-wrap wrapping, either I used too much or not enough or whatever. I was not a fan of that job at all.

Wow, that was a crazy night of sleeping! I feel heaps better today, but I kept waking up every few hours in the night, stretching a little, hugging Paul and then eventually drifting off again. I had some soup last night as well and that seemed to settle fine. *Nod*

To be fair, the guys at work always look at me for the wrapping - especially if somebody has wandered to our till with some ladies clothing. They always say 'I'll leave these to the professional' e.g. ME - but dudes, I can't fold?! Have you seen my wardrobe? Haha.

I hope you have a good day, thanks for being sympathetic with my crazy sick self yesterday. <3
