Tiny Flags (My CNN Weekend Round-up)
So, as much as I didn't want to get sucked into the royal wedding...I kinda did. I mean, I didn't get up at the ass-crack of dawn to watch it, but the highlights were on CNN at lunch and now...now...dammit.
Owen is totally making fun of me, calling me up and putting on a really bad English accent, "Hello! I suppose you'd like to marry a prince now, eh?"
"Dude, 'Eh' is a Canadian expression. Get your dialects straight."
"Oh poppet, you fancy yourself a princess?"

"My daddy called me his princess all the time."
Whatever. I justify it with the argument that we don't really have anything that compares. I mean, no one cares when the presidents' kids get married. One of the Bush twins got married a few years ago and it was like, a 30-second blurb on the news. Chelsea Clinton got married and the only thought I had was, "To a guy? Really? I thought I read somewhere that she likes girls?"
Yeah. So. I liked Kate's dress. That girl needs to eat a sandwich (or three) though, seriously. I keep calling her "Princess Skeletor" in my head because I'm an awful person. And she needs to eat a sandwich. Several sandwiches, in fact.
Camilla looked good. There. I said it. I really liked her everything though. The coat. The hat. The hair. Gold star, lady.
Posh Spice and David Beckham are scary looking. My landlord and I had tea together tonight and she said that she thinks they're androids. I think they are too. I couldn't even look at pictures and be like, "David Beckham is so hot" because all I was thinking is "David Beckham is too hot."
Also? I really liked the Spice Girls when I was in 4th grade. I cried when they broke up. CRIED. I was also eleven. My dad laughed at me.
In conclusion, Harry is cute and I want to go get drunk with him. He's also older than me, which surprised me, because I thought I was older and felt like a pedo every time I thought, "You. Me. Royal pub crawl."
And then I watched The King's Speech and was all inspired and shit. Every time I watch historical dramas, I have to remember that (delightfully paraphrased) quote from Elizabeth Barrett Browning, "Every age feels unheroic to those who are living in it."
In conclusion, Happy birthday, Sammich Winchester. I was going to write you a story, but I got distracted by CNN and "Ding Dong, Osama's Dead" and trying to figure out whether I should pull out my tiny little American flag and start USA chanting or wring my hands and try to figure out if my joy makes me a barbarian.

I loved Kate's dress! I remember a fashion-designing contest that my friend signed up for on a whim last week, and the theme was "William and Kate's wedding clothes." She had nothing with her - not even a pencil. All she had was a pen and the Hematoxylin and Eosin pencils we use to draw histology diagrams. We spent the rest of the day giggling over picturing William and Kate decked completely in pink and lavender.

It was on pretty much every channel over here too. The wedding itself was at like, 3am our time though...so...only the diehards saw it in realtime and its entirety. I was happy with the highlights though!

It was nice though, she looked stunning and happy.
Prince Harry, really? Heh.
I thought Victoria Beckham looked quite good, and I usually hate her for an indeterminable reason. Mr. Beckham looked good too - can't believe they have so many kids!

Hahahaha. Yes.
*facepalm*
I like Harry. I'm sorry! Maybe we don't hear enough of the bad stuff? We heard about the Hitler costume. We heard about the boob-grabbing incident.
At the end of the day, it all makes me think, "You're like, the least classy prince ever. Let's be friends."

awesomequite brave of him. I just don't think he's that good-looking. ;-)I bet he would be a cool friend; he doesn't do that many bad things.
Work going well? I'm just about to go shopping to buy my sister some things for her 18th birthday. It's such an important birthday in England. I had a surprise party for mine, it was quite fun but I'm not one for center-of-attention stuff!

He's cute. I used to not think he was cute, but it seems like he grew into his face. Or something. Idk. I have a thing for red-heads too. Hee.
He would totally be a fun guy to hang around with. Not date. I think dating him would be awful. But just be friends with. Yeah. Definitely cool.
Work is boring. I'm trying to finish my now belated birthday fic.
When is your sister's birthday? That's exciting! 18 is awesome here depending on how you look at it. You can buy porn and cigarettes and you can turn in your Cinderella license for a "real" one. Other than that...21 is where the party's at.
A surprise party sounds like so much fun though! Aww!

This year is going to be a great year...as soon as I get to Michigan. In the meantime, I'm going to celebrate YOUR new job! :)
When do you start?

My workplace is having a party on the 10th for the AGM and the theme is 'At The Races' so dresses, hats, etc. I have some dresses to choose from but I bought a big blueygreen bow on a headband as my 'hat'. It's adorable! Our work do's are just... Any excuse for a party. It should be fun.
Still working on your happy-birthday-Sammy fic? <3

That Idlewild wedding is coming up. I'm going shopping with Chrissy on Thursday after work (and hitting up The Library for Happy Hour) for a dress. I saw one in H & M that I really liked. It was yellow lace with a black satin bow. That was like, a month ago though, so I hope they still have it.
The Sammy-fic is coming along sooooo slowly. I was given real work to do, which is great, actually, but still...
...it'll get posted eventually. Hopefully within the next day or so. :/

We really do have a whole bunch of parties. Half are arranged by us, the mere employed-folk, and then the other half are legit work 'events' that should really have a purpose beyond drunkeness, but barely so. It's awesome just to get together. Our 'Linens' department is known as the best in the store for being friends and getting on well. It's a good thing that we go out 'n' drink 'til we drop. It means we are a cohesive team! *g*
I hope you send me a picture of the wedding, it sounds like it's going to be a fun day.
*\o/* Take your time with it, as long as it happens! I've been loving Sam a lot more recently. It's his puppy-dog face, and just... his adorableness. And the fact he's big. And snuggly. Seriously, he melts me.

Kate/William are very cute, which surprised me for some reason.
Erm... Hate commenting from my phone, I forget things too easily.
I don't think it's barbaric to be happy a backwards man like Osama is dead. If it is, everyone but the Neo's are barbaric cause we all get damn happy thinking about the death of Hitler.
Happy birthday Sammy...!

I didn't think it was barbaric until my boyfriend called me and started complaining about people on Facebook saying that it was. :/
Silly Facebook.

And I'm sure most don't mean to be.
Then there are also others who are the self-righteous ones, which I've also run into.

He called and I was like, "Dude. It's FACEBOOK."
I mean, it's primary usage is stalking exes and gawking at the pretty people you went to high school with who are fat now.
I'm kind've a horrible person. >.>
Idk. As far as the barbarian argument goes, I think it comes down to your attitude.
