Oooh, we haven't had an official "Geek Shop" in months.

I'm kinda sorta really obsessed with Being Human on Syfy.

I watched the pilot and I wasn't so sure, but I decided to try another episode before calling it quits because its been my experience that awesome shows don't necessarily have awesome pilots. The Invisible Man, I'm looking at you. (Maybe it's a SciFi/Syfy thing.)

Anyway, I checked out another episode tonight and then wandered off to find fandom (where are yooooooou?) because it's delightful. I even like the vampire and as a rule, I generally loathe vampires. And no, it's not a Twilight thing, it's an every-vampire-media-I-have-ever-experienced thing.Except for Interview With the Vampire, the book, not the movie. My general apathy towards vampires is much older than Twilight. My hatred for Twilight stems from the fact that the books are poorly written and Kristen Stewart is Kristen Stewart (she totally ruined Adventureland for me). The vampires themselves are just sprinkles on my Twilight hate-cake.

But Aiden? On Being Human? He might actually have overcome all odds to become my favorite. AND it has nothing to do with his blood-sucking. In fact, if he could suck less blood and just continue to be awesome and m-angsty, I'd be okay with that.

Oh. OH. And guess who else gets to play?!?

Right there. The alpha-vamp in the sweet police duds. And every time he walks on screen I go "Luuuuuuuuuucy" in my head.

Every.

Time.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that yinz should totes go check this show out. And don't judge it solely on the pilot. I thought the pilot was slow. It picks up very quickly in the next episode though. I promise.

Yes. I am aware of the original British!version. I haven't checked it out yet. I'm getting there.

Invisible Man shout out! Man, I looooved that show.

I agree on the Syfy version of Being Human, the first episode was only okay, but I think it definitely has potential for the future. I definitely recommend checking out the original British version, though. So far it's still superior, but then it had a bit of a rocky start too so who knows.

Oh man, The Invisible Man rocked my fourteen year old world. My BFF at the time and I would have epic weekend-long sleepovers where we'd just mainline episodes that we'd taped off of the TV (on VHS, no less) and then her mom would come in on Sunday and beg us to interact with other human beings.

...I've come a long way since high school.

I'll have to check out the British version of Being Human though! I trust your judgement. :)

I get, like, stupidly excited when I find people who have even heard of The Invisible Man nowadays. I was so in love with Darien. I once had a dream about him where I told him he had great hair. Why do I even remember that? Ridiculous.

I mean, he did have great hair. Beautiful, beautiful, flawlessly spiked hair.

Mmmm.
