That poor man, running wildly through the rain to find your car. Haha. I'm happy he found it for you though! I would've slightly been freaking out, too. Although, not outwardly (and probably not with my current car. Sigh. Long story about that. If we do become friends I assure you that we will almost 100% get along over cars).
Not so awesome about your mother taking up drinking? Though I've never been convinced it's the worst thing in the world. But I don't like it when it ends up affecting/effecting children. So, I can see the bad side of her doing it obviously enough that you know she's doing it.
